People come
up to me all the time and ask me how did I lose the weight and look so healthy.
So, I’ve decided to write a blog. The
truth is I am healthy. I didn’t go on a
diet and I didn’t try to lose the weight.
What I did do is wake up to the fact that what we put in our body has a
lot to do with the function of our Body, Mind and Soul. It affected my sleep, the ability to wake up
feeling great and my energy level during the day. I also became aware that when I put something
in my body and it doesn’t feel good or causes discomfort, it’s a sign that it
isn’t good for my body. When I stopped
to analyze why there’s a discomfort, it’s usually a food with very little
nutrition and processed. After eating
anything made with flour, I am almost always having stomach issues. Now, I choose to eat it a lot less.
Nutrition:
The key is to feed your body with more nutrients and that’s what I
did. For example, breakfast can be challenging
especially if you don’t have time in the morning to prepare. So, I prepare enough for a few days and leave
it in the fridge. If I feel like having
bread or crackers occasionally, I will eat it with an avocado. I call this counter balance. If I am having something with very little
nutrition, then I’ll make sure, I add something with high nutrition. Same goes for snacking. If I have sweet craving, I will have a yogurt
instead of cake. Today, I crave sour
cream and onion chips, so I had some with a few slices off cucumbers. I loved it and no need to feel anything but
enjoyment. For the most part, I eat what
I want with a conscious intention to add more nutrition to my food.
Mother Earth:
Bountiful food from the earth. I consciously try to incorporate at least
70 percent of foods grown from the earth.
I believe all things we need for survival is from mother nature. That was all we lived on. I enjoy beans and peas. I make a colourful raw green salad and keep
it in the fridge. Preparation is very
important. It makes it easily
accessible. People don’t understand how
I can eat an Apple for breakfast with a cup of tea. I enjoy it.
It infuses my body with fiber and other nutrients. This helps in elimination thus no excess gunk/weight
stored.
So overall,
I substitute healthier choices with more nutritional values. You’ll see the difference it makes in your
health. I sure did. I feel vital.
The side effects will be that excess weight falls off just naturally as for me. I don’t ever feel like I’m on a diet or I’m
making any sacrifice. The fact is: I eat
what my desire.
It's also worth mentioning that some medications such as birth control pills, anti-depressants and Prednisone messes with your hormones. This is where you'll have uncontrollable cravings and always wanting to eat. Weight gain can attribute to some medications.
